From local community activities and projects to national and global campaign participation and leadership. At Fast Track Cardiff & Vale we aim to work with a range of communities and stakeholders to reach our 2030 goals.

Texting 4 Testing

T4T is an intervention to increase access to HIV testing, improve understanding and decrease stigma about HIV.

Wales HIV Advocacy Network

The HIV Advocacy Network aims to create an advocacy alliance including interested Welsh community groups and people living with HIV.


Current Campaigns

A short guide to the HIV Action Plan for Wales – published in March 2023.

The HIV Action Plan for Wales was launched on 7 March 2023 and includes a number of key commitments for the next three years with funding attached to some of them from the Welsh Government. 

Photo Exhibition: 21st Century HIV

Our photo exhibition 21st Century HIV is now available for download in A3 or higher in A1-poster format on our website. This photo exhibition is made up of twelve panels that showcase people living well with HIV in Wales, and discusses stigma, disclosure, and resource

Senedd Event: World AIDS day 2022

Fast Track Cardiff & Vale organised a special event at the Senedd to commemorate World AIDS Day on Wednesday 30 November 20212.

Fast Track Cardiff & Vale made recommendations in Spring 2021 for an HIV Action Plan for Wales, which is now published. Check our past Consultation Campaign.

Senedd Event: World AIDS day 2021 day

Fast Track Cardiff & Vale organised a special event at the Senedd to mark World AIDS Day on Wednesday 1 December 2021. 

Wales HIV Testing Week (November 2021)

Wales HIV Testing Week, coordinated by Fast Track Cardiff & Vale, was launched on 22 November 2021 and until the 28th.

21st Century HIV

21st Century HIV is a project working to decrease HIV stigma and self-stigma in Cardiff & Vale (and by extension Wales). The project works across the different areas of stigma, including stigma in society, stigma in the health system, and self-stigma.

Senedd Elections 2021

Fast Track Cardiff & Vale joined with THT to ask all politicians standing in the Senedd elections in May 2021 to pledge six things if they were elected to Government. This led to the current HIV Action Plan for Wales.

Butetown & Grangetown GP Pilot

In collaboration with the Cardiff City & South GP Cluster, we run an HIV postal testing scheme in Grangetown and Butetown. Anyone living in these areas of Cardiff could get a free HIV self-testing kit.

Campaign: create an HIV Action Plan for Wales

Fast Track Cardiff & Vale made recommendations for an HIV Action Plan for Wales to meet the target of zero new HIV transmissions by 2030, to be developed together with the HIV voluntary sector, leading clinicians, Public Health Wales and people living with HIV. See projects above.

HIV Testing Week May 2021

From 14-21 May 2021, we worked with partners across Cardiff & Vale and across Wales to promote HIV testing and greater awareness of HIV prevention. 

European Testing Week (20-27 November 2020)

Fast Track Cardiff & Vale launched its ‘Do You Know?’ campaign with the aim of increasing HIV testing in Wales and raising awareness of the facts about HIV to help eliminate stigma.
